Wendy E. Long, counsel to The Judicial Confirmation Network, today made the following statement on the extremist liberal special interest groups and far left Senators attacking Judge Sam Alito for his tactical advice and legal analysis to the Reagan administration in the Thornburgh case:
"Stop the presses! A 'smoking memo' has revealed that a Reagan Justice Department lawyer gave legal and tactical advice on a case before the Supreme Court. And it was only 20 years ago. Stay tuned for more breaking news.
"It is a challenge to decide whether the left-wing opponents of Judge Alito are more predictable or more desperate. Yes, the liberal extremists can round up the usual suspects Senators Kennedy, Schumer, and Boxer to jump when they say 'jump.' These three seem to be competing for the title of 'Chief Litmus Tester.'
"The divisive 'fear-and-smear' campaign being waged by liberal extremists against Judge Alito is pulling the Democrat Party into an abyss that already separates mainstream America from the radical Left's agenda. Where are the reasonable voices in the party?"
