Judicial Crisis Network Announces New Six-Figure Digital Ad Campaign Targeting Four Democratic U.S. Senators
They hope the campaign will put pressure on the Democratic senators to support the movement to let the American people have a voice in the next SCOTUS appointment
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Judicial Crisis Network announced a six-figure digital advertising campaign targeting Democratic senators in four key states. This digital ad buy is the first phase of a sustained campaign to encourage Democratic senators to join the movement to let the American people have a voice in deciding the next Supreme Court justice with their votes in the presidential election this fall. Targeted senators include Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.), Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.).
The digital ad will appear in West Virginia, Colorado, Indiana and North Dakota media markets and will cost over $100,000.
“It is fair and reasonable to let the people decide who picks the next Supreme Court Justice during the ‘full throes of an election year.’ We cannot allow President Obama turn the Supreme Court nomination process into another partisan game, where Obama’s goal is to dominate the court with extremist liberal ideologues. We now ask Sens. Joe Manchin, Michael Bennet, Joe Donnelly and Heidi Heitkamp to allow the people a voice in the decision to replace Justice Scalia on the Supreme Court,” said Carrie Severino, Judicial Crisis Network Chief Counsel and former law clerk for Justice Clarence Thomas.
This campaign comes a week after the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican Senators forcefully made the caseto let the American people choose the next justice by choosing the next president.
