Democrats Claim Opposition to Liberal Supreme Court is Racist

By Carrie Severino | February 25, 2016

When he took office in January 2009, President Obama had extraordinarily high poll ratings. Just before the inauguration he had a 78% “favorable” rating.
But after seven years of lawlessness and other liberal forms of “governing,” Obama’s favorability rating is now down to 45%. How do Obama supporters explain the massive drop?
Racism.  Apparently sometime between 2009 and 2016, a third of Americans belatedly discovered that President Obama is black and, being racists, realized that they no longer liked him.
We’ve seen liberals making this argument in the presidential race already, and today we saw it again on the Senate floor. Apparently mere opposition to an Obama priority is enough to trigger dog-whistle “racism” accusationsfrom Democrats. One doubts that liberal special interest groups will be bashful about making the same accusations explicitly.

It’s absolutely despicable that the Left is taking this route, but it fits perfectly with their say-anything-do-anything mentality. The people making the accusations now are literally the same people who filibustered Miguel Estrada’s nomination to the D.C. Circuit because “he is Latino.” And they filibustered his nomination not once, not twice, but seven times over more than two years.
Remember, their ultimate goal is to create a liberal-dominated Supreme Court. History tells us that the Democrats will stop at nothing to achieve it, so watch and listen carefully.
