John K. Bush is President Trump’s nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from Kentucky.

Education: B.A., Vanderbilt University (1986), summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa J.D., Harvard Law School (1989), cum laude; Ames Moot Court Finalist; Executive Editor, Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy

Judicial Clerkships: Judge J. Smith Henley of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit (1989-1990)

Notable matters:  Mr. Bush’s practice has focused on complex litigation, including antitrust, securities, financial institutions, insurance, intellectual property and product liability disputes.  He has represented parties in successfully challenging the constitutionality of punitive damages awards.     Mr. Bush was one of former President Reagan’s attorneys during the Iran-Contra investigations.  From 2012-2015, Mr. Bush served on the Advisory Committee on Rules for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
