JCN’s Severino’s Statement on SCOTUS Gerrymandering Ruling

“Today’s decision was a victory for the rule of law. The challengers in the gerrymandering cases were asking judges to insert themselves into the political process, inventing a new legal standard out of whole cloth. But this is and should be a political battle for the people’s legislatures, not the courts. Democracy is diminished whenever courts encroach on political issues.”
