Before adjourning for a two-week Easter recess, the Senate confirmed four more district judges, bringing the total number of judges confirmed since Inauguration Day to 97.
And it seems that Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell intends to keep the confirmations coming. Before the recess, McConnell filed for cloture to end debate on the nominations of five additional district-court nominees. Their confirmations are expected sometime next week after the Senate returns on Monday.
The Senate Judiciary Committee has also scheduled a nominations hearing for next Tuesday, April 30th. The slate of nominees for that hearing has not yet been announced.
