“The rule of law won today. As the court unanimously recognized, fighting public corruption doesn’t require giving prosecutors a blank check to charge government employees with crimes. Basic due process requires clear lines that separate legal from illegal conduct, and thanks to the Court, we now have one of those lines. The next justice appointed to the Supreme Court must be committed to ensuring that criminal prosecutions don’t violate the rights of innocent government employees.”
