Ken Blackwell Statement

Ken Blackwell, former Ohio Secretary of State, State Treasurer, and Mayor of Cincinnati, released the following statement today:

“President Obama and liberal Democrats should not deny the American people a voice in deciding the next Supreme Court justice with their votes for president, no matter who wins. Already millions of people have cast votes with millions more to come. The court should be balanced instead of dominated by a liberal majority, which has been President’s Obama’s scheme all along. The court is now one vote away from doing away with our Second Amendment rights, one vote away from letting the EPA run amok with obsessive regulations, one vote away from restricting or doing away with religious freedom, one vote away from giving the IRS free reign to persecute innocent Americans for political purposes. Eight years ago these same Democrats said they’d deny President Bush an appointment to the Supreme Court during his last year in office. As Martin Luther King would say, their lips now are dripping with hypocrisy. We all can agree to let the people choose the next president and let the next president choose the next justice.”
