Judicial Crisis Network Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino released the following statement today:
“This case further clarifies President Obama’s decision to nominate another liberal for the Supreme Court. Regardless of one’s position is on immigration policy, an overwhelming majority agree the President had no authority to write the law himself, imposing so-called ‘executive amnesty’ without any involvement from lawmakers. Judge Garland’s record gives us little reason to believe that he would set aside his liberal ideology and uphold the Constitution’s of separation of powers, and that is just one more reason the Senate should continue standing up to President Obama’s attempt to create the most liberal supreme court majority in fifty years.”
