“It is not surprising that Senator Kirk wanted to use the Obama administration’s ‘meet the judge’ political theater for his own political purposes. But insulting his Senate colleagues as ‘closed minded’ is an affront to them and all his constituents who are tired of the incivility and dysfunction of Washington and want a say in what kind of supreme court our country has.
“It is not ‘closed minded’ to advocate for the right of the people of Illinois to decide what kind of Court they want with their vote in November, instead of allowing the President to rush through another liberal only months before leaving the Presidency. Kirk’s GOP colleagues are being democratic, and we suspect Kirk will learn a little something about that concept in November.”
